Stepful is proud to announce that our Online Pharmacy Technician Program has earned accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
ASHP accreditation is a formal recognition of the quality of education and care that our program delivers. It also demonstrates the positive outcomes of our students, such as high certification exam pass rates and job placement rates.
We’ve been granted six years of accreditation, the maximum number of years an institution can earn.
Who is ASHP?
ASHP is the only nationally recognized pharmacy association that accredits pharmacy technician training programs in the United States.
They are the largest association of pharmacy professionals in the U.S., representing over 60,000 pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists in all patient care settings.
ASHP provides comprehensive resources to support pharmacy professionals through every stage of their careers.
Why is ASHP Accreditation Important?
ASHP accreditation provides an important stamp of approval to our training program. Industry employers see this accreditation as assurance that our program is high-quality and prepares students to be successful pharmacy techs.
In the United States, accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental, peer review process that ensures a program meets an industry’s or organization’s quality standards.
Industry professionals know that ASHP-accredited programs prepare students for practice as pharmacy technicians in a variety of contemporary settings (e.g., retail, hospital, etc.) and ensure that students acquire the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and abilities needed for such practice.
When potential employers see that students have graduated from Stepful’s accredited program, they can feel confident those students have learned best practices and been properly prepared to work as a pharmacy technician.
Stepful’s Pharmacy Technician Program
Stepful’s Online Pharmacy Technician Program takes four months to complete and covers all essential topics such as pharmacology, prescriptions, pharmacy calculations, and more.
To start, students learn the foundational healthcare knowledge they need to become well-rounded pharmacy technicians. They then master the ins and outs of pharmacology and get hands-on with pharmacy calculations and prescriptions.
About halfway through the program, students begin preparing for their certification exams and work with Stepful coordinators to find clinical externship opportunities near them.
What sets our program apart is that all students get a dedicated career coach who helps them find an in-person externship to practice their newly learned skills, craft their resume, find a job, and prepare for interviews.
Stepful graduates work at CVS, Walgreens, Costco, New York-Presbyterian, and Northwell Health, among other institutions.
Here at Stepful, we’re here to help you succeed as a pharmacy technician. The ASHP accreditation reflects the quality and care you can expect if you decide to join our program.
